Joanna Garcia

Joanna Garcia Arellano is a graduate student in the Program Evaluation and Data Analytics, M.S. program at Arizona State University. Joanna obtained her B.A in Psychology in 2014 from ASU and worked in various non profit programs funded by the Office of Refugee and Resettlement. Joanna was drawn to Program Evaluation and Data Analytics through her experience in the extensive collection of data in these programs and their effect on policy changes. Joanna currently works as an Educational Outreach Specialist for a grant program, GEAR UP. Upon program completion, Joanna hopes to utilize her new skills in data science to support in the operation of effective programs aimed at supporting the success and wellbeing of youth.

During her free time, you will find her caring her indoor plants and three dogs, enjoying the outdoors, or at a local coffee shop. She can be contacted at joanna.i.garcia@asu.edu

Sunayna Goel

Sunayna Goel, also known as Nina, is a student of Program Evaluation and Data Analytics, M.S. at ASU. She is working towards enhancing her career. After graduating from ASU she plans to use insights from massive amounts of structured and unstructured data to help solve complex business problems using data science. After finishing her M.S. in Accounting and Business Administration she worked in Treasury Market for the largest public sector bank of India, started two of her own companies, and eventually pursued her love for teaching high school mathematics and art. She has extensive knowledge and understanding of financial and education sectors.

You can find Nina in making artwork or taking photographs in her free time. She is involved in various charities and loves to devote her time for the causes she believes in.

Courtney Stowers

Courtney Stowers is a graduate student completing an M.S. in Program Evaluation and Data Analytics at the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions, Arizona State University. Her undergraduate degrees in Family and Human Development and Applied Quantitative Science and work experience as a teaching assistant in college-level family science, research methods, and social statistics courses lend to a special interest in social policy for families and children. She hopes to pursue a career that will allow her to use data science to effect change in the lives of children.

During her free time, she enjoys exploring new coding languages, playing board and card games, baking, solving sticker puzzles, reading (particularly current events news articles and historical, romance, and children's literature), listening to music (especially from 1980s-2010s boybands!), and falling asleep on television shows.
